Empty

empty
gauges unchecked
warning signs ignored

empty
coasting downhill
breathlessly frantic

empty
uphill now
momentum fades

empty
on the shoulder
clothed in darkness

empty
cars pass by
no one stops

empty
sadness descends
tears stream down

and then I see
him.

  1. Great poem, Matt. I think the beauty is that by just opening our eyes, we can see God all the time. All the beauty of creation (yes, even the mountain of dirty snow outside) shows us a glimpse into the beauty of God.
