To most people Milka is a nobody. Just another person who will live and die on planet Earth.
But to God she is important which means she should be important to me.
And to you.
I learned about Milka because of the 24/7 project–a group of bloggers trying to raise support for and awareness of the work being done by Nuru International. Nuru International is a not-so-well-known organization founded by Christians to help end extreme poverty.
I wrote about the 24/7 Project last Friday. To see that post click HERE.
As a recap, we are trying to raise $7,000 in the 24 days from April 1st through Easter, April 24th.
So, how is it going?
I’m not completely sure. But I do know that people have been praying. Others have decided to give. And others are contemplating what they can do to help end extreme poverty.
So I would say that it is going well.
Please continue to pray.
Please consider giving. If you are compelled to give, you can do so by going to their Donations Page. If you donate, please put “24/7 Project” in the comments box for tracking purposes.
Please spread the message of Nuru by “liking” their Facebook page, by following them on Twitter, and by encouraging others to do the same.
There are other Milka’s out there who need your support, your prayers, and your kindness.
You can make a difference.
(How are you making a difference in your community? How have others made a difference in your life?)
I hope I am making a difference with my church. I also sponsor a child through Compassion. Great post!
Awesome man–thanks. We can’t do everything, but all can do something. Or several somethings.
With a recent baby in tow, I’m appreciative of meal trees. Its a blessing for us, and I know it is for others as well.
With our church, we help out a lot with a local food pantry – humbling, but I love it.
Helping is humbling–which is one of the best parts of it 🙂
