Moving unsteadily across the page
the pen keeps writing.
The recipient needs to read what the
finished letter will say.
Knowing this to be true he remains
focused on the task.
Tear-covered cheeks reveal a desire
for his son to know his regret.
Words harshly said caused their
relationship to sour.
Words left unsaid caused the separation
to last far too long.
Mistakes from the past matter less
when death is so close.
Maybe his passing will cause
his son to finally listen,
To finally know
That he is loved.
Oh man. This is really good. Whoever he is, I hope he comes to that realization too.
Thanks, man. Me too.

The more the merrier!
Loved it Matt!
Thanks, Adam!
