The Joy of Building

Playing in the sand
as her parents look on;
completely unaware
of her surroundings.

The castle she
constructed lacks
the ability to withstand
the coming waves.

Her parents know
what she doesn’t;
her handiwork will
soon be destroyed.

When the castle falls
they dry her tears
and encourage her
to build again.

They teach her that
the joy of building is
worth the pain of
eventual loss.

And they remind
her that she is secure
in their arms no
matter what.

  1. Isaiah 42:16
    I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.

    Not only will he not forsake us but;
    Psalm 90:14-17
    Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love,
    so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.
    15 Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery!
    Replace the evil years with good.
    16 Let us, your servants, see you work again;
    let our children see your glory.
    17 And may the Lord our God show us his approval
    and make our efforts successful.
    Yes, make our efforts successful!

    I looked up a light and dark bible scripture and saw this one that I have not read yet, God is so caring! Most forget of his compassion and covenant with us but I am such proof of his everlasting grace and faith in us, I feel often I was the worst of us all, and now he is blessing me with so much I can hardly understand why, other than he is all things good and almighty! I didn’t just ignore Christ and doubt, but I mocked and ridiculed, and even worked against him willingly…he is too good and big to even try to understand! All Praise and Glory to you Jesus!!!

    Great writing, mind if I share a poem eventually? I’ll email it to you if I may, so you can read it first. I wrote it when I was being changed from atheist to believer, and you can see such a huge respect and love for God, in all things natural and supernatural. He was changing me long before I ever went to church, prayed or read the bible. In fact I couldn’t understand anything of faith and then he lifted the veil and now I can understand most of the bible and teachings through his grace. I tried to disprove God for such a long part of my life, and I actually ended up proving him through life itself and his creation. Watch the Genesis Code, it is such a great movie, and really helps you understand how Genesis came to be, and proves God, outright proves God! . Email – Slayerofguitars@hotmail.com
    By the way, God bless you for your service, may he shine his light upon you and bless his people!
